about

In John Steinbeck's novel "The Pearl," a poor family discovers how the richest treasure can become a curse that ultimately must be cast back into the ocean. Today's world is rife with such distractions, baited by any number of soporifics ready to numb you into a dissociative state. Echoing sound is about that bolt of lightening that comes to shake you awake, challenging you to become your own hero. If you could go back in time- Could you stop yourself from giving in to temptation? Would you?

This track was recorded at Chillhouse Studios in Charlestown, MA. Engineered mixed and mastered by Will Holland.

lyrics

Eyes black
It was strange how you saw
Right through my human skin
I’m intact but
I check my zipper again

Contact
With a smile like a sneer
You ask is that your natural hair
A crack in the mask
A grab and a dash
Mouth slack, you up and disappear.

I am worlds away
Slipping between time and space
Traveled to that day
When the pearl was found
In a psychic cave
A warning dissolves from my mouth…

Back track
A panic looking around
Bounce back
The wreath of time is flat
I tack, headed out on the sound

Is it a curse or a gift?
A miss or a hit?
I crave that opalescent swirl
I spotted a glint of light on the waves
Of Cosmic beaches

I am worlds away
Slipping between time and space
Traveled to that day
When the pearl was found
In a psychic cave
A warning dissolves from my mouth
In the echoing sound

Is it a curse or a gift?
A miss or a hit ?
I crave that opalescent swirl
I spotted a glint of light on the waves
Of Cosmic beaches

I am worlds away
Slipping between time and space
Traveled to that day
When the pearl was found
In a psychic cave
A warning dissolves from my mouth
In the echoing sound

Will you be OK
You hold the weight of all my fears
I’m not from this place
And the danger is real
Would you wear my face?
A warning dissolves from my mouth
In the echoing sounds
